Buying Guide

Buy a Pre-Inspected Toyota Crown Direct from Japan

Searching for a used Toyota Crown for sale with verified condition and complete export paperwork? Japan offers both the classic JDM luxury sedans (Athlete, Royal Saloon, Majesta) and the modern Crown lineup (Crossover, Sport, Sedan, Estate/Signia). On TokyoCarZ, you can browse live auction and fixed-price listings, review original auction sheets (with English translation), and arrange global shipping with all export documentation handled. Choose your port to view landed-cost breakdowns and estimated arrival times, then filter by body, powertrain (hybrid, turbo-hybrid, or PHEV), drive (AWD), year, or trim to find your perfect match.

Quick Facts

Crown Family Today	Four body types — Crossover, Sport, Sedan, Estate — unveiled July 15, 2022.
Recent Launches	Sport HEV (Oct 2023), Sport PHEV (Dec 2023), Sedan (Nov 2023), Estate (Mar 2025).
U.S. Crown (2023– )	Hybrid standard with AWD; HYBRID MAX (Platinum) pairs 2.4L turbo hybrid with rear eAxle (~340 hp).
U.S. Crown Signia (MY2025)	2.5L hybrid, AWD standard, ~240 hp, ~38 mpg combined (EPA est.).
Legacy JDM Variants	Athlete · Royal Saloon · Majesta (common in used stock).

Each listing is verified for grade, mileage, drivetrain, and engine code directly from the auction sheet before you buy.

Trims & Configurations

Crown Crossover / U.S. Crown: Hybrid standard; HYBRID MAX performance option on Platinum.
Crown Sport: Offered in both HEV and PHEV variants (Japan).
Crown Sedan: Formal sedan for personal and business use (Japan).
Crown Estate / Signia: Two-row crossover practicality (Japan/U.S.).
Legacy Models: Athlete, Royal Saloon, Majesta — premium RWD sedans with classic appeal.

UX Tip: Each filter (Body · Powertrain · Drive · Year/Series · Trim) should have its own indexable URL for better crawlability and sharing.

Engines & Technology

HYBRID MAX (2.4L Turbo Hybrid): Delivers ~340 hp with rear eAxle and 6-speed Direct-Shift automatic.
2.5L Toyota Hybrid System: Standard hybrid on U.S. XLE/Limited trims with Electronic On-Demand AWD.
Crown Sport PHEV: Plug-in hybrid variant launched Dec 2023 (Japan).

Over ¥1,200,000: Late S22x and new-gen Crown family (HEV, PHEV, HYBRID MAX).

Price varies by grade, mileage, body, series, hybrid type, AWD, and options. Check grades (3.5–4.5) and symbols (A1/U1/W2/XX) for condition details.

Kenya: ≤8 years from Year of First Registration; KEBS mandates QISJ document validation before inspection (effective July 2025).
UAE / Philippines: Registration rules vary by local authority; see port-specific guides for ETA and taxes.

Buying Tips — Toyota Crown

Choose Your Era: Athlete/Royal/Majesta for classic JDM luxury, or new-gen Crown for modern hybrid tech.
Hybrid Power: Verify 2.5L/2.4L hybrid system, battery type, and AWD mechanism (eAxle or Electronic AWD).
Sport Variant: Check for PHEV availability and battery health notes in auction docs.
Budget Strategy: Grade 4.0+ for retail; Grade 3.5 for smart-value cosmetic projects.
